Love Your Neighbor - 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time

Jesus had a way of keeping things very uncomplicated. The Pharisee's were the religious authorities of Jesus' time. In our Gospel this weekend they wanted to find fault with him and asked him which of the commandments was the greatest. He said very simply, love God and love neighbor. There is a very beautiful prayer that I recently read and prayed. It is written by Anne Osdieck and I hope you like it as well:

Christ, so we never forget,

write on our hearts that you want us to love you with our whole soul, our whole mind,
and our whole understanding, and with every ounce of our strength.

And let our love for you spill over to our neighbor.
And let all of our love of neighbor come back to you.

So that all things work together
when we love God.

Amen

Can you imagine what a wonderful world this would be if everyone could pray this prayer and live it each day? Very uncomplicated, just the way Jesus would have it.
